A new financial literacy source called “Bank It”

Another Financial Literacy source has surfaced during this extremely difficult financial times. The financial reform legislation should include provisions that keep the finance industry members abreast of the financial challenges of community members. Please read the article, visit the site and review one of the books to assess whether these measures actually help youth, adults and society in general.

Dear CBE Community,

I want to take a few minutes to speak with you about an opportunity to do business in Nigeria. As we all know, and many of you have heard me say, "Capital is a coward and will not venture into unfriendly marketplaces". It is my belief, that the key to any successful partnership is the right partner. Well, I have had the opportunity to spend time with the new Governor of Imo State, in Nigeria, The Honorable Ikedi Ohakim and found him to be a visionary, and a man of integrity, who values the rule of law and sanctity of a contract, and believe he is that partner.

As such, I along with Global Investment Summits, headquarter in London am delighted to invite you and members of your organization or network to an Economic Forum where you will be able to learn more about some of the unique business opportunities taking place in Imo State. The Imo State is endowed with abundant human and natural resources, which could be harnessed to stimulate a realistic development process. Imo State is an attractive investment centre not only for agricultural and manufacturing concerns but also tourism, infrastructure, housing, tel ecommunications, electricity generation and distribution as well as in natural gas projects and other business services.

This forum is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn about unprecedented trade and investment opportunities in Imo State, interact with Imo State's government leaders responsible for the U.S.- Imo State commercial and financial relationship, and network with an extraordinary collection of American and Nigerian corporate executives.

CyberWarfare: You against Me!

Choose your preferred book and forward your selection to patrick@metamorfs.com and let the Warfare begin!

Urban communities cyber security threats

The warfare is real but the emphasis on the destructive potential still remains elusive. I agree the changing nature of critical infrastructure protection most be given maximum attention but not at the expense of other necessities. The depiction of uncertainty based balance risk and non-risk in Cyber-attacks has not been adequately linked to specific vulnerability assessments results and therefore remain a threat.

Reviewing the chapters on threat assessments and the alleged intelligence community responses to the threats, forces me to consider alternative approaches to optimize the appropriate cyber- offense. After you purchase the book and review the content, perhaps your findings would allow the sense of comfort that my personal review could not master.

I recommend a group of Explorers accept this Cyber-Threats challenge and investigate more how our local communities would be impacted.

Equity, Education and ICT economy

In 2009, a very good paperback was published that changed the views of many educators. In my opinion, the author Neil Anderson provided enough insight into the how ICT could benefit the education process and outcomes.

Based on the recent DC Teachers challenges covered in the Washington Post - D.C. teachers go back to court over layoffs - article, I wonder if this book's content could help improve the education process for the thousand or more students that will directly or indirectly be impacted by this dispute. Please share your comments or views regarding the content of the book and the education of the students being impacted given the circumstances.

Urban Transit Systems and Technology

As urban residents, we have access to many modes of transportation. Gas, parking, and other fees are some of the factors that influence our choice of transportation. Recently terrorism is a new factor impacting our transportation decisions. Reviewing literature on urban transportation development, one wonders how terrorism impacts these developments. Please review the following books and share your comments.

On a local note, click "ICT surveillance on DC metro buses and trains: At what price?" to read about the amount of money invested in the subway transit system of Washington, D.C. The cost to ride the transit system continues to increase, however, all technology changes have not proven effective in reducing threats.

Fixing Your Computer Online?

Is it actually possible to repair your computer to optimal performance using an online service?
Many urban residents are reporting they have computers that run so slow that they don't waste time turning them on.

My article "Why does my computer constantly reboot?" helped many visitors better understand the causes of computer performance degradation, but no single solution was offered to resolve every problem.

Since I wrote that article, many vendors are alleging they can repair many of these problems online.
